Hello!

Matt is a diverse actor and singer. He holds a BFA in Theatre from Central Connecticut State University and is currently an MFA Acting candidate at Michigan State University-go Green! He is a certified Meisner teacher through the Meisner Institute and is currently in the process of earning certification as an Intimacy Director and a Michael Chekhov instructor.

Matt enjoys all aspects of performance but specializes in character acting, physical comedy, and improvisation. As a Meisner-trained actor, he strives to live truthfully in each moment of performance. He is well versed in dialect work, heightened text, and a wide range of styles from the Elizabethan period through the 20th century. His movement work is rooted in the Michael Chekhov technique. Matt also has strong interests in voice-over work, teaching, directing, and producing.

“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.”

Oscar Wilde

  • "The cast works as a well-oiled machine. All the company members are quite compelling, especially Matt Durland as the imperious Inspector."

  • "Matt Durland plays Eurydice’s father and his performance might be the best in the show. The fatherly care and patience that he demonstrates through his character is heartwarming as he tried to reconnect with his daughter and spend time with her. His decision to immerse himself in the river to forget again has a slow build up but it gets you in the feels."
