I believe student success begins with meeting learners where they are. As a certified Meisner teacher and Chekhov instructor in training, I ground my teaching in two complementary techniques: the truthful doing of Sanford Meisner and the psycho-physical imagination tools of Michael Chekhov. I start with Meisner's repetition exercises to help students stop watching themselves act and genuinely listen to their scene partner, then introduce Chekhov's psychological gesture and center work to connect body and imagination into one cohesive instrument. Having taught acting, scene study, plays as film, and race and identity in the musical, I lead with kindness and humor and aim to give students tools they can build their own process from, remembering that all we're really doing is playing!
